What education do you need?

A bachelor degree or higher, or at least five years of experience, is usually needed to work in this job.

Most analysts have a university degree. Sometimes relevant experience is also required. Currently, around 45% of management and organisation analysts have a bachelor degree in business or a related field. 25% also have a postgraduate qualification. Certification is also available via organisations such as the International Institute of Business Analysis (Australia Chapter).

How long does education take?

  • A bachelor degree takes three years full-time, or four years with honours.
  • A postgraduate master's degree or graduate diploma can be obtained online in 16 months part-time.
  • A graduate certificate can be obtained in a minimum of 8 months.
