To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Business Law, you must have:

  • A Bachelor degree in any discipline, or equivalent; AND

  • Students also need to be proficient in English.

If you are a qualified lawyer, you could also be eligible for the Master of Laws (Business Law) degree.

Meet our Course Academic

Dr John ORR, BHMS UQ, LLB (Hon) SCU, PhD QUT

Dr John Orr is a lecturer and Course Coordinator at Law & Justice, Southern Cross University. John has taken a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies from the University of Queensland, a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours (and university medal) from SCU and a Doctor of Philosophy from QUT. His award-winning PhD thesis, University Law: Pursuing Fruits of Knowledge, examined the role played by enabling legislation in requiring Australian public universities to undertake their core functions in the public good.

John is also a long time Director of the peak Education law body the Australia and New Zealand Education Law Association (ANZELA). He is also the immediate Past Editor of the International Journal of Law and Education.  John’s main research interests are in corporate and higher education law and he is a nationally recognised scholar in higher education law and university governance. There is a strong nexus between Dr Orr’s research and teaching. John teaches Corporations Law in the Bachelor of Laws program and Company Law in the Associate Degree in Law and Bachelor of Business programs.
