An MBA is just a good, general piece of education that helps you understand more broadly how a company functions, and gave me some knowledge that was really important for where my career is at the moment.

The units specific to wellbeing were my favourite units. The educational leadership with regards to wellbeing was very engaging due to its informative content and high level of relevancy with that is currently happening within schools around Australia.
All of the education subjects were highly applicable. The assignments were designed in a way that each student could focus on their own school or workplace. The general way each assignment worked was to analyse a particular element of the school and present improvements. In my mind, that's exactly the sort of thing a Principal does and what I aspire to.
The impact of the Master of Education on my career has been enormous. I have gained a greater understanding of Educational Leadership and the theories behind it, which has enabled me to become a better leader in my current educational institution. It has also opened up other leadership opportunities.
The content within the course directly relates to my professional life so I use this time to re-read prescribed texts, research or articles that will help to develop my understanding of the unit as well as develop me professionally. I think it is important to model lifelong learning to my staff and students and this is one way in which I can do that.
I really enjoyed the unit focusing on positive leadership styles and have actually used some of that knowledge to teach my students about different leadership styles in the workplace.
After two years of full-time teaching, I decided that it was time to further my skills and qualifications. After looking at courses online and speaking with colleagues, I came across the M.Ed being offered by SCU Online. Throughout this course, I am finding that a lot of what I am studying related perfectly to my everyday work in my school.
I've been practicing as a project manager for around 10 years and decided that I wanted to attain a more formal recognition in the profession. I thought of various options for this recognition and determined that a masters would be the best fit for me.
The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. Lecturers were knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging, recognising the challenges faced by most of the students in balancing work demands, home life and study.
My current role involves interfacing with many other disciplines. Studying Southern Cross University's Master of Project Management has proven to be the perfect way for me to advance my knowledge and opportunities.
