Pathways to university postgraduate degrees
26 June 2016
Did you know that any experience working (or studying) outside of traditional linear education could help you get a postgraduate degree at Southern Cross University?
SCU recognises that there are many ways we learn in life. Those lessons can be just as valuable as university courses. Advance your career by converting your experience into a postgraduate degree that is recognised worldwide.
Even if you didn’t have higher education qualifications when you started your career, your current experience could get you into a Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate, which are both Australian Qualifications Framework Level 8 qualifications. Your work experience could be enough to gain entry into a course, which can then see you progress onto your Masters degree.
Here is how you can turn experience into a postgraduate degree:
- Prior learning is recognised at SCU. The process of Advanced Standing determines the credit awarded and reduces the amount of learning (in months or years) required for completion.
- There is comprehensive information on SCU’s website to help you determine where you stand with your experience and which pathway will lead you to an SCU postgraduate Certificate or Diploma, or even a Masters Degree.
Check out the My Career Profile Tool to help you determine how your existing skills can help you, and which course is right for you.
If you’d like to increase your chances of climbing the ranks in your current industry, or if you want to augment your current skills to venture into another field, an online course at SCU can help you obtain a degree that’s right for you.
